How to Define a Positive Self-Worth Measure your character against this metric.

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

In this video, Entreprenreur Network partner Jeff Rose talks about defining your character and self-worth through what you have tried, not necessarily your accomplishments (or lack of accomplishments).

Often when we meet failure, we like to concentrate on solely how we failed. Instead, Rose suggests concentrating on how you have tried. Taking actions (which may consequently lead to missing the mark) is an important measure of how you define yourself.

Rose stresses that you are not defined by what others say about you, and you are not defined by what you were in the past. By focusing on your actions and your effort, instead of dwelling on mistakes, you will see personal growth.
