Not only did New Zealand's Rod Dixon win a bronze medal at the 1972 Olympics, he also competed in four Olympic games, won the 1983 New York City Marathon and once ran a mile in 3:53. In simpler terms: He knows a little about running and fitness.

Now, 45 years removed from his Olympic medal, Dixon focuses on helping young children achieve their potential. In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Joe De Sena of Spartan Up takes a walk with Dixon, who explains why it's important to give children access to good nutrition and exercise routines -- and why you should emphasize finishing a race (rather than winning one) with children at a young age.
